Add Gage Page

This is where you add all the gages into the database.

Serial Number - The main required item for keeping track of the gages. Usually, you would make up your own serial number system and you would put a unique serial number on each gage.

Generate Button - This is a handy button for finding the next serial number to use. If you use a system of consecutive numbers like 1001, 1002, 1003 etc., pressing this button will find the highest number already used and enter the next higher into the Serial Number box. If you want to use a standard prefix on the serial number, put the prefix in the Settings page. This will only work when all the serial numbers have the same format.

Calibration Frequency - The system uses this to find when gages are overdue. It will show up in the overdue list this many months after the date of the last calibration.

Type - This is ment to be the general type of the gage. Like "Micrometer", "Gage Block", "Indicator". This can be used to search and find gages on the Gages page.

Category - Another opional category usable for sorting.

Active Checkbox - By checking this, you can mark the gage as active or not. If they are not marked active, they will stay in the database but will not have to be shown on the lists. Only gages that are marked Active will show up on Calibration Overdue list.
