Binary Files
DNC Server is mainly made for transferring plain text files that most NC files are. In some special
cases you might need to send a file in binary mode instead of the normal text mode. Binary File
transfer only works manually, not in Auto-Serve mode.
You need to set the format settings for the machine you are using to Binary. In Main Menu -
Settings - Configuration - Serial Format, Set “File Type” dropdown to Binary.

Receiving a Binary File
You can receive a binary file from the machine by pressing the receive button. A
Save File dialog will ask you what filename you want to save it too. DNC Server
will wait for data to start coming from the machine. Once it starts receiving,
when it doesn’t receive anything for 2 seconds, it will assume it’s done and close
and save the file.
The Status line will show progress of receiving in bytes received.
Sending a Binary File
In the file list highlight the file to send. Get the machine ready to receive, and press the Send
button at DNC Server. It will start sending immediately. Progress will show on the Status line in
bytes sent.
This sends the file in 8-bit bytes and ignores all the other formating settings.
